ABOUT
Mi mye have just releasing two different record but both on the same day, one an ep called “the bow saw and the eq” and the other an album called “my name's wimp” these two releases have lived side by side of each other, one is the best friend of the other and thay felt like thay should appear at the same time.
The ep “the bow saw and the eq” is a record of production, songs being made by playing with peaces of studio equipment, using equalizer to make background noise have a pitch and melody, using harmonizers to make string section out of singluer string lines. Its a slow small record that is ambishes in it depth.
The album “my name's wimp” is the ep pall, but it is not trying to equal it or be larger, its a record of a band playing songs together. The record is the most honest of all mi mye records, self deprecating and understand what the band is (jealous at points, hopeful, optimistic and depressed)
The two records and having vastly different releases tho, the ep “tbsateq” is having a string of singles released and then then a fool digital and CD release on the 7th of October, on the same day the album “mnw” will be released on 12” vinyl, digital released from the album will follow but not until the spring of next year, so the two releases will exist phisicaly together before thay both exist digitally.
The albums is about relating and being around people in all is positive and negative forms so we want to support that through the release, with it being accesabil at show, in record shops and band camp, all things we want to support.
Mi Mye have been compared to Sparklehorse, the National and Will Oldham.
